Here are some cool new things going on in the piano Dept.:

Piano students:  we're going to "Disneyland"

This article about our music school ran in the local paper last week!

Story:
They’re going to ‘Disneyland’
Local music school launches themed program
NewSongs School of Music in Elk Grove is taking their piano students on a trip to Disneyland - minus the overpriced tickets and the one-hour wait in line at Space Mountain.
No, the students are not attempting to raise funds for an actual trip to the fantasyland of zip-a-dee-do-dah's. But, they will be embarking on a special adventure of Disney-themed music activities all year long.

"It's a Small World"
As a supplement to their learning, students can learn music from around the world right on their computer.  Our "Small World" YouTube videos features clips from the ride, mixed with easy-to-follow piano versions of folk songs.  Strong auditory ("play-be-ear") learners will do especially well, and then you can show off to your teacher and we can focus on non-reading aspects of piano playing, such as rhythm, posture, and technique.  Find the videos here:

"Wonderland Warmups"

Speaking of technique, many of our students have already started the "Alice In Wonderland" piano technique exercises.  Find more help with them in these videos, featuring Alice and the Mad Hatter in person at the piano
